Learning Guitar Over 40?
Oct 05, 2024In this lesson, I share my perspective on why learning guitar over 40 is actually more advantageous than beginning at a younger age. I highlight the mental stimulation and cognitive benefits that learning an instrument can bring, especially for brain health and neuroplasticity. Playing guitar also serves as a stress reliever and helps older learners take advantage of their life experience, patience, and focused practice.
While there are some challenges, like potential tech hurdles and balancing responsibilities, I encourage older learners to embrace technology and make time for their practice. It's essential to stay disciplined, set realistic goals, and enjoy the small victories along the way, which can lead to long-term success. Ultimately, I believe anyone can excel at guitar after 40 with the right focus, motivation, and joy for the instrument.
